Student Politics

Student influence reaches much further than just Blekinge. To have a chance to deal with problems that arise on a national level Blekinge Student Union is a member of SFS – Sveriges Förenade Studentkårer (Swedens United Student Unions). There are about 50 other members in SFS and thus contains approximately two thirds of Sweden’s student unions. SFS only works with national issues and operates strictly against it’s by-laws that the member unions procure. Because of this our small student union can influence national politics by influencing SFS internally.

Sveriges Förenade Studentkårer

Studentkårer i Samverkan (Student Unions in Cooperation)

Studentkårer i Samverkan is a cooperation between eight student unions from all over the country. All members are similar in size and agreed to create the grouping Samverkande Studenter (Cooperating Students) to discuss national educational politics. The cooperation provides unified voting in SFS representative assembly, thus increasing influence.

Studentkårer Syd (Student Unions South)

Studentkårer Syd is a cooperation between student unions that emerged from a cooperation between the schools in Skåne and Blekinge. The purpose of the cooperation is to drive a unified regional influence on the matters of student housing, public transport and educational internship placement.
